This post provides information on upcoming lifecycle milestones and license compliance changes for Sophos Firewall.
End-of-Life: Sophos Firewall OS (SFOS) v18.5 and 19.5
Per our lifecycle policy, we are announcing an end-of-life (EOL) date of April 30, 2025, for Sophos Firewall OS (SFOS) major release versions 18.5 and 19.5 (includes GA and all Maintenance Release (MR) versions).

This early announcement is intended to give customers and partners sufficient time to plan an upgrade to a newer version.
With the wealth of new features and improvements already available in SFOS v21, there are plenty of good reasons to upgrade.

XG Hardware Lifecycle Information
Please also note that the XG EOL is just under two months away. Ensure that your customers are taking advantage of the current limited-time promo offers and overlapping license functionality to upgrade as long as they’re available.

License Compliance for Sophos Firewall
Customers with no valid subscription (in addition to the Base License) and/or no support may experience some functionality changes, and in the case of XG hardware customers, see additional alerts about the upcoming EOL.

XG hardware customers will be informed about these changes in the XG EOL reminder emails planned for February 6, 2025. All other Sophos Firewall customers will be informed via the Sophos Community and via targeted emails in the coming weeks.
