Sophos Firewall/XGS Series hardware
We released the first models of our new dual processor XGS Series hardware on April 21, 2021, with further models due for release from the end of May.
- All XGS Desktop and XGS 2xxx and 3xxx 1U models are already shipping (ex. Sophos warehouse)
- High-end 1U models (XGS 4xxx) and 2U models (5xxx, 6xxx) are expected to be available from the end of May.
- XGS Series hardware models support a new licensing scheme

Sophos Intercept X Advanced for Server and Sophos Cloud Optix
Customers with Intercept X Advanced for Server term licenses now benefit from Cloud Optix Standard, the Sophos Cloud Security Posture management service included in their license at no extra cost. Extending protection beyond server workloads to critical cloud services, Cloud Optix Standard includes seamless integration with Sophos server agents. Learn more.

Sophos Mobile 9.7
The latest version of Sophos Mobile adds greater support for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments, through support for Apple ‘User Enrolment’. This management mode is designed for employee-owned iPhone and iPad devices. Please the Sophos Mobile Admin Guide for more details.
Migration to Sophos Central is now even easier. Existing on-premise Sophos Mobile customers no longer need to enter a migration token before migrating into Sophos Central. More details on migration are available in the Sophos Mobile Migration Guide.

Important Changes to the Sophos Firewall OS (SFOS) Lifecycle Policy
We are making some changes to the lifecycle policy for Sophos Firewall OS (SFOS). For any maintained SFOS version, Sophos aims to support only the last two maintenance releases.
As part of this, we are announcing an End-of-Life date of July 31, 2021, for the following software versions:
- V17.5 MR13 and older
- V18.0 MR3 and older
